Whether you are planning to join the Carlton or just thinking about it, all the information you need is on this page.
There are three main types of membership available, each of which has a different subscription fee:

Available for up to one year; permits you to play as
a Member in Monday and Thursday afternoon tournaments. |
| Country Membership |
Available only if you live more than 25 miles
(as the crow flies) from the Carlton Bridge Centre. |
| Student Membership | Available only if you are currently in full-time education. |
| Town Membership | The 'standard' membership category. |
Associate Membership is offered for a period of up to one year (non-renewable), after which we expect an Associate Member to become a full member of the Club. In Monday afternoon or Thursday afternoon tournaments, Associate Members pay the same table money as full members. Associate Members may play in evening tournaments as visitors, paying the same table money as visitors, but NOT subject to the limit of four evening tournaments per month.
Carlton subscription fees are payable annually in June, or pro rata from the date your application is accepted. The current fees are:

If you join during the year, or are only resident in Edinburgh for part of the year, fees are charged pro rata. If you have not paid your fee within three months of the due date, you will be assumed to have resigned from the Club.
The Carlton subscription fees above do not include the fee for your personal membership of the SBU. You must add £5 to the fees shown above unless you already pay an SBU membership fee via your membership of another bridge club.
You can pick up an application form at the Club or you can download one by clicking here. Fill in the form and send it to the Club at the address shown at the top of the page. (NOTE: Do not send any money with the form!) The downloadable version contains two copies of the form, so both you AND your partner can join!
Please note that you need the Adobe Reader program to be able to view or print the downloadable form. The program is free and will allow you to view and print any PDF document. Many computers already have Adobe Reader installed, but if yours does not, click here to install it (a new browser window will open).
When we receive your completed form, it will be posted on the Club notice boards for approximately thirty days and, unless there are any objections during that time, you will be invited to join and you will become a member upon payment of your subscription fee.
